Board Functions


Specific functions of the UUCF Board of Directors include: 

  • Maintaining close communications with the UUCF Membership to understand their needs and aspirations for UUCF. 
  • Supporting, managing, and evaluating the performance of the professional ministers, and the Coordinating Team (CT). 
  • Developing and articulating UUCF’s Mission, Vision, and Ends. 
  • Providing leadership and accountability for large strategic initiatives, such as the Capital Campaign and the Building Program. 
  • Providing leadership and visibility in crisis situations working closely with the CT. 
  • Planning and conducting the UUCF Annual Meeting and other General Membership Meetings as they are needed. 
  • Developing and maintaining UUCF’s Operating Policies and Governance Manual. 
  • Providing oversight and final approval for the Operating Budget, and evaluating funds raised for programs to ensure the congregation's values and mission are achieved. 
  • Participating in the strategic planning process and using the strategic plan as a primary guide for evaluating CT performance. 
  • Maintaining operational understanding of UUCF’s governance structure. Regularly reviewing governance structure and revising, as needed. 
  • Developing Board goals and managing and evaluating the Board’s accomplishment of these goals.
