As many congregants may recall, one of the major projects of the Reach Campaign was to abandon our 50-year-old septic system and connect to the public sewer. We have always planned on completing this project over the summer so that it would interrupt our daily operations and those of our renters as minimally as possible. In the summer of 2015, delays in the permitting process with Fairfax County did not allow us to complete the project as planned. Last summer, the project was put on hold to allow as much cash on hand as possible to be put toward mortgage reduction during our December 2016 refinancing. This summer, due to […]

UUCF’s Climate Action Group will not meet Wed., Jul. 5, either in person or via conference call. Enjoy Independence Day! Please take a few minutes to take this survey to help us decide how often to meet this summer, what goals and actions we should undertake in the new congregational year and what lessons we should take away from the past year’s climate change work at UUCF. A few updates: Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions has hired a new executive director, Meg Mall, who starts Jul. 1. The UUCF Climate Action Group will offer an Energy Masters training for the congregation in the fall. Consider signing up to be trained to […]
