Covenant Group Facilitator Training

Sat., Jun. 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., off-site. Covenant Group facilitators are crucial to UUCF’s small-group ministry program. This training will cover how to model and share leadership, foster inclusivity, encourage authentic participation, create healthy norms, give voice to concerns and lead a group well. Contact Rev. Join an RE teaching team!

Are you kind, patient, fun-loving and young at heart? If so, then you have the attributes needed to be a teacher in UUCF’s Religious Exploration program. We still need 38 more volunteer teachers to offer all the youth and children’s classes we need this fall. RE teachers serve on four-person covenanted teams with guidance from a liaison and RE staff. Training and support is provided. RE at UUCF is not Sunday School! We follow small-group ministry models to create classes where fellowship, friendship, activities, stories and conversation are the conduits to learning. 2019 Sustainable Garden Tour

Sun., Jun. 9, 1-5 p.m. UUCF has been selected as one of the featured sites for the 2019 Sustainable Garden Tour, sponsored by the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District. This year’s tour will feature gardens from homes, schools, libraries and churches in the Vienna-Oakton area. Residents or representatives of the community spaces open their gardens and share experiences landscaping with natural resources in mind. The various sites include things like rain gardens, native plant landscaping, rain barrels, backyard wildlife habitat, edible gardens, composting and more.
