Herndon Friends (Quakers) will host a presentation by Shoshana Abrams, national field organizer, Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) on witnessing for peace to Congress. Ms. Abrams has worked for several organizations on peacebuilding work in the Middle East. She holds an master of arts in public policy and conflict resolution from Tel Aviv University.
All are welcome to join us to hear about the work and the approach of Herndon Advocacy Team to establish relationships with our representatives and senators. This year our focus is on preventing war with North Korea. We work with each other, other advocacy teams across the country and FCNL staff to learn about the issues, about visiting and writing Congress and writing effective letters to the editors of newspapers. The Herndon Advocacy Team is open to Quakers and non-Quakers seeking to build relationships across political divides in support of peace and justice.
