Update posted Jan. 30, 2023: Current volunteering needs in order of importance are a captain for Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. This would be a good introduction to this position, Tom Hettenhouser will be there the entire time. At least one overnighter per night is needed, please consider the fully open nights of Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. An appetizer slot is still open for Monday. Evening crew has people each day as well as breakfast. Please fill a slot if you are able. Gently worn warm clothing may be dropped off at UUCF Feb. 5-12. Monetary donations to the Hypothermia Prevention Program are also welcome (instructions for online donations coming soon).

UUCF participates in FACETS’ annual hypothermia prevention program, providing shelter for about 40 unhoused adults in Fairfax County. UUCF’s week in 2023 will be Feb. 5-12. Volunteers from Vale United Methodist Church, Oakton Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna will provide dinners for the guests. Unity Fairfax will provide volunteers. UUCF congregants are needed for several volunteer tasks. Sign up to volunteer here. Check openings under “All Other Tasks” tab.
