RE Fair Trade Chocolate Fundraiser to Combat Child Labor

Dumbledore’s Wizard Army (4th and 5th Grade RE) invites you to join them in addressing the problem of child labor and child slavery. They are learning that addressing social justice issues requires educating others about the problem and are asking you to join in the effort. Worldwide, 70% of child labor occurs in agriculture, with 1.48 million children engaged in hazardous work on cocoa farms. Please consider: 1) using chocolate purchasing choices to help get kids out of the fields and into classrooms, 2) ordering fair trade chocolate from the 4th and 5th grade RE class to enable them to make a donation to ACE (Action Against Child Exploitation) or 3) sign up to give a donation without ordering chocolate and the class will forward your donation to ACE.
