Fri., Apr. 27, 7 p.m., Music & Arts Room.
Dramatic reading of “Address Unknown” followed by dialogue and light refreshments at 8 p.m.

Afterward, everyone is encouraged to walk through the exhibit and be moved by the historical journey of the Holocaust, to the incredible gift of light as Muslim-Albanians provided sanctuary and openhearted interfaith commitment through acts of courage and selflessness, and finally a practice of internal reflection of current day atrocities and a renewed commitment to say Never Again. Never Again.

On loan courtesy of Yad Veshem (the World Holocaust Remembrance Center) in Israel, ARTspeaks is proud to present Besa: A Code of Honor as part of an installation in the Music & Arts room. The entire installation, titled “Address Unknown,” features stirring photographs by American photographer Norman Gershman, paired with rescue stories during the Holocaust as Muslim-Albanian families provided refuge for Jewish refugees. It also includes a historical picture of the time as well as personal narrative of the many lives that were lost.
