From our youngest children to our Middle School youth, we will be learning about UUs around the world.
Here’s what Lisa says about our summer program!
Have you traveled to far-off places (or want to)? Do you like to play games, share and listen to stories, or make arts and crafts? Then you’re in luck, because Summer RE is the place for you! This year, the Summer RE program will have lessons focused on Unitarian Universalist communities around the world, including our partner churches in Szentegice and Puriang.
Through Rising Grade 5 we will “visit” our partner churches in Romania and India as well as other communities of UUs and Unitarians around the world. We will explore the customs and beliefs of these communities, and learn about the global history of Unitarian Universalism through games, arts and crafts, and stories.
Middle School (Rising Grade 6 through Rising Grade 8) will be fun and games. They will have a choice of games that include new games from around the world.
High School will welcome the rising 9th graders and meet the 5th and 12th before taking a break until August. In August they will begin planning the beach trip and reconnecting with one another.
Summer Teacher Needs:
Many of the lead teacher slots are already filled so mostly we need “assistant teachers” and “classroom helpers” to help support the lessons and to share your experiences. We hope you will consider volunteering. Please sign up or contact Lisa Riddle at email@example.com
Join us for the fun and spiritual growth through learning about how we can partner with other UUs and learn about their experiences in Romania, India, the Philippines and more!
Suzanne Leonard, RE Committee Chair has created much of the core curriculum and is coordinating the summer preschool program. Laurie Cunningham, REC member, is supporting rising Gr. 1-3 and Maria Cox-Leow is coordinating and leading the cooking for RE bake sales that will support our UUCF Refugee Resettlement Program.
