Welcome to the UUCF Religious Exploration Program

Online enrollment is required for participation in all RE classes, off-site events and Nursery. Please enroll your child(ren) during your first month of visiting UUCF RE, even if they do not attend weekly.

The regular RE Program classes are free to all. The Our Whole Lives (OWL) classes are free to children of UUCF members and pledging friends (except HS OWL). If you are not members or pledging friends, please pay the OWL fees listed below at the time of enrollment.

  • 1st grade OWL: $50
  • 5th grade OWL: $50
  • 8th grade OWL: $200
  • High School OWL: $45 for UUCF members/pledging friends (to cover meal costs); $75 for community participants

If these RE fees are a burden for your family, please request a waiver from the RE program. We do not want fees to be a barrier to your child’s participation in OWL.

UUCF welcomes all donations to the RE program to help offset our expenses this year. No amount is too small. Your donation is tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

Donations by check are also appreciated. Pleas send checks to: UUCF, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Box 130, Oakton VA 22124.

Before enrolling your child (Nursery to Grade 12), please read our RE Safety Policies and Guidelines.

How to enroll

Complete and submit the online form below.

  • Enrollment in UUCF RE Program

NOTE: We share the information you provide about your child with the RE staff, teaching team and, on an as-needed basis, chaperones during field trips or activities held outside of regular class times. Contact Diana Tycer, Interim Director of Religious Exploration, or Youth Ministry Coordinator Courtney Firth, youth@uucf.org, if you have information about your child or youth you would like to discuss. If you are enrolling more than one child in the RE program, please complete a separate form for each child.
  • NOTE: Children must be age 2 by Sept. 1, 2018, to enroll in classes. Children 3 years and older should attend classes ready to participate in larger teacher-directed group activities. Otherwise, the Nursery would be the appropriate option. Please contact Diana Tycer, dtycer@uucf.org, if you need to place your child in a class that is not based on chronological age or current grade level.
  • UUCF values sharing vibrant images of our families with our community. We do not use names. I/we give permission for photos and/or videos of my child/youth to appear in UUCF materials, including print, website, social media and projected during children or adult worship services.
  • Please describe any allergies affecting this child/youth. Please indicate the severity of each allergy. Note whether your child will carry their own Epi-pen, inhaler or other medication, and where will it be stored while at UUCF and on field trips?
    • Severe - life threatening, call 911
    • Moderate - contact parent/guardian immediately
    • Mild - alert parent/guardian of exposure after class
  • Please list the name of all medications for this child, including dosages, timing and other directions.
  • Youth - Grades 7-12

The following youth contact information is not published, but helps RE staff and youth advisors/teachers communicate invitations, updates and other pertinent information before 10 p.m. and after 7 a.m., avoiding school hours when possible. Skip to the next section if you do not have a child in Grades 7-12.
  • Do you allow UUCF staff to text your youth? Note: UUCF staff does not text youth after 10 p.m. or before 7 a.m. and uses text primarily for logistical information.
  • Please select one of the three boxes.
  • Health and well-being information

  • If you have additional information to share with the RE staff, but you do not wish to share with the teaching team/chaperones at this time, please contact Diana Tycer, Interim Director of Religious Exploration.
  • Family information
