Youth Group

Offered at  9:15 and 11:15 for Grades 9-12

Relaxed fellowship and guided discussion on topics of concern to youth moderated by adult facilitators and the Youth Ministry Coordinator. Building Bridges

Offered at 9:15 and 11:15 for Grades 9-12

Building Bridges is a world religions program to deepen youth’s understanding of the dynamic, fascinating and varied world in which they live. In conjunction with Youth Group, 6 weeks are set aside in the fall and spring for intensive study of a selected religion. Youth choose the religion, research it and co-present the Building Bridges sessions. 

High School Our Whole Lives (OWL)

Next offered winter 2021 for Grades 11 & 12

High School OWL is the fourth course in the highly regarded comprehensive lifespan sexuality education curriculum created by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. This seven-session class is offered as a weekend intensive. This class helps prepare students to take full responsibility for their sexual health and relationships as they head to college or their next phase in life. Prevention of sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy are thoroughly reviewed. Topics of sexual harassment and sexual assault are explored in depth and students practice asking for and giving consent. In addition, the course discusses pornography, sexual exploitation, sex trafficking and the current political environment for LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive rights for women.

Popcorn Theology

Offered summer 2019 – for rising Grades 7-12

If you think RE is dull – guess again! This entertaining curriculum features a film clip from either a classic or recent film to launch a discussion on major themes, including good and evil, identity and acceptance and justice. Popcorn is served, of course!
