After a screening of the award-winning indie film “Kushuthara: Pattern of Love,” UUCA will host an interview with director Karma Deki, the first female director in Bhutan, who will share the challenges and rewards of making her film. The film stars English actor Emrhys Cooper and Bhutanese actress Kezang Wangmo, now politician and member of parliament in Bhutan. The movie gives a glimpse of life and love in one of the most secluded cultures in the world. It’s a story of love and its mysteries when the present and past collide – exploring two of the most difficult subjects in Buddhist philosophy – karma and reincarnation. Rev. Aaron McEmrys will interview Karma and there will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.
