Hello Friends, 9-9:30 a.m.: For preschool children, this 30-minute class emphasizes kindness and making friends. Same curricula as used in person, but shortened. Includes songs, mystery box, stories and a simple craft.
Expanded Chapel, 9-9:30 a.m.: Join Ms. Diana biweekly for Chapel time, including stories, music, movement and worship rituals. Note: Chapel will happen every week, but two Sundays of the month it is more lesson-focused for K/Grade 1 kids and two Sundays of the month it is more worship-focused and geared for all young children and their families.
Soul Matters, 11-11:40 a.m.: This curriculum explores the monthly worship themes with 2nd and 3rd graders. Adapted for online, it includes stories, music, meditations, guided discussions and simple activities. Lessons have been developed using anti-bias/anti-oppression lenses and current events are discussed.
Harry and UU, 9-10 a.m.: A UU social justice curriculum for 4th and 5th graders that uses Potter-lore to explore societal injustice and develop take-action projects to address those injustices in the local community.
Riddle and Mystery and VA Inclusive History, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.: For 6th graders, this Tapestry of Faith class explores deeper theological questions (What is evil? Does God exist? What happens when you die?) through activities and guided discussion. Spring 2021 will include VA Inclusive History.
Crossing Paths, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.: A new curriculum for middle school students adapted for online use, based on the old Neighboring Faiths curriculum. Students will learn about other religions and compare and contrast them to Unitarian Universalism. Includes virtual visits at other worship services.
High School Group, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Facilitated fellowship, activities, guided discussion and self-directed learning for high school students.
