The UUCF Re-Opening Task Force is happy to announce that the Coordinating Team (CT) has approved the task force’s Phase 3C re-opening plan, which will take effect this Sat., Oct. 1.
- All persons may gather on a mask-optional basis for worship services and other events of any size on the UUCF campus.
- The mask-optional guideline includes those who gather to participate in singing and other music activities and Religious Exploration classes.
It is recommended that those coming to campus are fully vaccinated and boosted; however, no monitoring or checking of vaccination status will occur. Congregants should be mindful that some among us are at greater risk from COVID variants and their personal decisions to remain masked and distanced should be respected and accommodated. If you have been exposed to COVID or are showing symptoms of illness, please stay home until you test negative for the virus.
The task force recommended these changes because all persons age 6 months and older are able to be fully vaccinated and more than 85% of Fairfax County adults have been fully vaccinated. More than 78% of all people in Fairfax County have been fully vaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID risk rating for Fairfax County is now low. For their own safety, unvaccinated individuals are encouraged to remain masked inside UUCF buildings.
In keeping with UUCF’s covenant with each other, the UUCF Coordinating Team, Board of Directors and the Re-Opening Task Force ask members and friends to comply with the non-mandatory recommendations in these guidelines to protect everyone’s health. All participants in in-person gatherings should be sensitive to the comfort of others with respect to hugging, touching and physical proximity.
