Pippin Whitaker joined UUCF as intern minister in September 2017. Pippin serves half-time from September through May for 2 years (except summer months).
Pippin is a candidate for Unitarian Universalist ministry and a master of divinity candidate at Meadville Lombard Theological School. She recently completed a yearlong certificate program in congregation-based spiritual direction. Before that, she completed a dual-placement clinical pastoral education unit at both Palmetto Health Richland Regional hospital and the UU Congregation of Columbia in Columbia, SC. Pippin is also holds master’s and doctorate degrees in social work from Florida State University.
Pippin is a lifelong UU and has been a member of UU congregations in Mississippi, Florida and South Carolina. She is married to Steve Lize and they have three children (ages 4, 6 and 9). She enjoys spending time with her spouse and children, playing the piano, visiting museums, cooking healthy food, reading and the outdoors.
