Upcoming worship services
Fri., May 14, 2021 – Friday Night Worship: Storytelling
“Storytelling Our Way to Strength.” The stories that live within us – about our own lives, our ancestors, the way the world works – have the power to offer us strength and hope or to make life even more challenging. Please join Rebecca Benner, Vicky Maldonado, Kristin Moyer and Ruth Perry for the last Friday night service of the congregational year to explore some of these stories and how to tap more deeply into those that might help us flourish. Music by Alden Benner and Laura Weiss.
Sun., May 16, 2021 – Online Worship With Cedar Lane UU Church
“A Theology of Covenant and Other Pandemic Lessons,” by UUA President Rev. Dr. Susan Frederick-Gray. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Unitarian Universalist Association, Rev. Dr. Frederick-Gray will lead this service for the Potomac Partnership UU congregations – Cedar Lane, Fairfax and River Road. The sermon will examine how the pandemic has shown us more clearly the ways we are interconnected and responsible to and for each other. How does this change the way we think about covenant in and across our congregations? What new practices does it call us to?
