Dear UUCF Community,
You have likely seen messages about a series of focus group sessions, designed by UUCF’s Board of Directors. What are these all about?
Basically, it’s about setting the stage for what we, as a congregation, want to focus on, during a potential capital campaign this coming congregational year. UUCF has reached an important period in its 70-year history, and your participation and feedback in the focus groups is essential.
Your feedback will inform the Board’s decision-making, and we have already received valuable input about UUCF’s critical needs, financial security, and campus upgrades.
During focus groups in August, you asked about many topics – the history behind past attempts at a septic field upgrade, why we’re looking to grow our endowment, and how we will promote social justice efforts in our community and beyond, among other things.
The Board has listened and adjusted our plans as we gather these great ideas, and will continue to do so in the coming weeks.
Every capital campaign is a balance among the needs and wants of a congregation, the physical spaces, and the wider community. We need your help to best strike that balance.
With this focus group process, we are seeking connection – for that is what will take us into the bright future together.
As your board president, I invite you to attend one of the remaining meetings, which will finish in just 3 weeks. If you have already attended one of these sessions, thank you for your time and your wisdom.
