Each UUCF lay minister represents a strategic area of congregational ministry and is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and goal achievement in that area. Each area of lay ministry has various committees with discrete responsibilities reporting to it.
The Lay Ministers Council (LMC), which includes the lay ministers, the senior minister, and the intern minister, was constituted to provide general leadership in the congregation through presence, high standards of participation, visioning, responsiveness to congregational needs, and ongoing training and mutual support. The LMC reports to the Coordinating Team through the senior minister.
