Each year since 2005, UUCF members have donated $1,500-$3,000 a month to local, national and international charities through our Share the Plate program. Share the Plate contributes half of cash and 100% of designated checks from each service’s collection plate to organizations nominated by UUCF members and pledging friends. UUCF Share the Plate collections are designed to raise awareness within the congregation about local, regional, national and international social justice concerns and at the same time give congregants the chance to financially support a wide variety of social justice organizations. Social Justice Coordinator Andrew Batcher and Lay Minister for Social Justice Marcia Simpkins review nominated organizations each November for designation in the following year. They select the recipients based on their compatibility with UUCF’s mission and the Five Pillars of Social Justice. If you have a not-for-profit organization that stirs your passion, we invite you to nominate it for Share the Plate.
