Dear UUCF Community,
As part of our annual commitment to transparency and stewardship, we are pleased to share important updates about UUCF’s endowment funds and grant opportunities. These changes strengthen our ability to receive and manage legacy gifts while continuing to support meaningful projects within the congregation.
What’s New?
Improved Grant Calculation: The Board of Directors has adopted a new practice for determining available grant funds. Starting this year, the annual distribution amount will be calculated using a seven (7) quarter rolling average of the Endowment Fund’s market value. This approach ensures we are responsive to market conditions while prioritizing the use of these funds for meaningful projects that benefit UUCF.
Creation of the Basic Fund: We have established a new Basic Fund, designed to hold legacy and planned gifts for long-term congregational needs. Unlike the Endowment Fund, the Basic Fund does not distribute grants. Instead, it provides flexibility to address strategic priorities and essential needs, including operating and capital expenses, as determined by the Board.
Why Do We Offer Grants?
Endowment grants allow us to invest in projects that advance UUCF’s mission and strengthen our shared community life. These grants have supported initiatives ranging from spiritual enrichment programs to facilities improvements – projects that might not otherwise be possible through the annual operating budget.
Grant Applications Are Open!
Applications for Endowment Fund grants are now being accepted for spring 2026. The deadline for submission is March 15. For details on eligibility, criteria, and the application process, please visit: uucf.org/give/endowment/.
Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to UUCF’s future. Together, we ensure that our congregation remains vibrant and resilient for generations to come.
With Gratitude,
Annemarie McCaslin, Treasurer
On behalf of the UUCF Board of Directors
