Celebrating Our Progress: An Update on the UUCF Bridge Campaign and What Comes Next

The UUCF Board has good news to share regarding the UUCF Bridge Capital Campaign. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are moving forward with a clear, board-approved plan to revitalize our campus and secure our future.

Fundraising Milestones

To date, our collective efforts have reached a projected total of approximately $2.5M in campaign proceeds. While our ultimate goal remains $3.6M to fully realize every planned improvement, this progress is a testament to the commitment we all share to the future of UUCF.

Our Path Forward: The Tiered Funding Approach

On April 21, 2026, the Board adopted a governing framework to ensure that we are responsible stewards of these funds. Projects will be funded in nine distinct tiers as pledges are collected, allowing us to begin work as soon as the necessary funds are in hand.

Here is a look at what we are prioritizing first:

  • Tier 1 (First $400K collected): Our first priority is the mortgage payoff – more on that soon!
  • Tier 2 (next $200K collected): By early summer, we expect to be moving on to our most critical needs, including parking lot lighting repairs, essential HVAC unit replacements, and new sanctuary projectors. We will also engage architectural support to begin scoping more complex projects.
  • Tier 3 (next $435K collected): This tier focuses on significant deferred maintenance, such as replacing skylights, additional HVAC replacements, rebuilding the bridge to the Administration building, and repairing the playground.

For a full picture of the prioritized project list and funding tiers, please join us at the upcoming Annual Budget and Bridge Campaign virtual town hall on Monday, May 11, 7pm. Use the Zoom link to access the meeting.

Managing the Process

To ensure that every dollar is used effectively, the Board will soon establish a Building Committee to oversee the execution and scoping of all projects. For larger improvements – such as renovations to the Sanctuary and the basement of the Administration building – we will work closely with architects and consult with key stakeholders, such as the Worship and Religious Exploration Committees. Every project that requires scoping and design decisions will have its own small project team that draws from affected staff, lay leaders, committees, and interest groups. Projects with significant design components and significant visibility/congregational impact (like renovations to the Sanctuary and the Administration Building) will include a structured process for gathering needs and input from the congregation. The Board and the Building Committee will be transparent about project timing, project teams, and opportunities for congregant input and engagement. Interested in volunteering? Finishing Strong

Our current projections suggest that we will reach many of our most vital goals, but we still have a journey ahead of us. Reaching the later tiers will allow us to complete beautiful renovations to our Sanctuary, including kitchen and bathroom renovations, and reworking our Sanctuary and social spaces to meet long-term needs.

Every contribution brings us closer to the next tier and closer to a safer, more welcoming, and more sustainable campus. Thank you for your continued investment in the UUCF community. Let’s keep this momentum going and finish this campaign strong!
