Share the Plate Offering
UUCF shares half of its weekly offering with a nonprofit doing work consistent with UUCF’s mission. The Share the Plate recipient for August is Skype a Scientist, an education non-profit that makes science accessible and fun by connecting people with science in fun and meaningful ways and by making science education available and engaging for everyone. Skype a Scientist’s core values are education, succinct and clear communication, inclusion, diversity, and honesty. They work to address intentional scientific misinformation, a lack of diversity in scientific disciplines, a lack of trust in experts and science in general, and a lack of communication skills in many science professionals.
