On Sep. 20, 2017, UUCF welcomed Diana Tycer as the interim director of religious exploration (DRE). Diana graciously agreed to serve in this position through the 2019 congregational year. On Mar. 19, 2019, the UUCF Board of Directors approved the UUCF DRE Search Committee’s recommendation to name Diana as director. In December 2023, as part of a staff restructuring, the Board of Directors named Diana as the Director of Family Ministry and Lifespan Faith Formation.
Diana has been a UUCF member since 2009. She most recently served on the Religious Exploration (RE) Committee and has volunteered as an RE teacher for many different grade levels. She is a trained OWL (Our Whole Lives sexuality education) facilitator and has taught 8th grade OWL at UUCF for 3 years. Diana has more than 15 years experience administering programs in non-profit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Head Start and the National Senior Citizens Education and Research Center. She has a strong background in volunteer recruitment, program management, and partnership development. Diana lives in Herndon with her family and pets.
