It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Just in time for holiday gift giving, artists and crafters are invited to share and sell creations at the UUCF Holiday Arts & Crafts Show. All artists take 80% of every sale, with 20% going to the UUCF operating fund. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists and crafters to make some extra money for the holidays and for the UUCF community to buy local!
How this show works
- Art show opened November 10 and closes Sunday, December 15, 2pm, in the Sanctuary Building
- Craft show opens Sunday, December 15, 11am-2pm, in the Sanctuary Building
The show is divided into two components: the art show and the craft show. The UUCF art gallery is now showing artwork for the Art Show portion of the show until December 15. A vibrant craft show will take place after the December 15 service, 11am-2pm (also serving as additional in-person visual art sale engagement possibilities). Everything that has not sold by December 15 should be taken home that day, including the hanging artwork. If an item is sold before December 15, UUCF will contact you and the buyers will take home the artwork upon purchase.
UUCF will promote the art show in the community starting November 1 to create buzz for this exciting opportunity, emphasizing supporting local artisans (buy local!). UUCF will provide each artist a 2’x4’ of table free of charge. UUCF will manage all sales so that you don’t have to stress. Artwork can be purchased through lweiss@uucf.org at any time during the show. UUCF will provide labels for the artwork.
Reserving a table at the craft show
To reserve free 2’x4’ table space for the craft show on December 15, email visualarts@uucf.org by December 1. This is also a first-come, first-served reservation process. If you would like more than 2’x4’, please request more than one slot. Slots with options for hanging lattice or backdrops will be limited. Please sign up immediately if you want this option and tell us how tall the backdrop will be behind your table (as opposed to just displaying on the table).
Picking up wall art
Artwork in the Art Show will be displayed November 10-December 15 at 2pm. It will be available for sale throughout that time. Artists must be able to come in person to take home your artwork on December 15, 2pm. If you are unable to take home your unsold pieces, please email visualarts@uucf.org to arrange an alternative time to pick up.
Setting up/cleaning up the craft fair
Arrive to set up your craft table any time between 7am and 9:30am on Sunday, December 15. The craft fair will start at 11am, immediately after the worship service. All tables must be emptied and wiped clean by 2pm.
Handling sales on December 15
Sales of crafts and artwork sold on December 15 will be managed by UUCF. As someone comes to your table, you will have a UUCF-provided sales sheet that buyers will fill out. This will include the name of the item, cost, and who purchased it. Buyers will bring their items to the purchasing table the day of the craft show. UUCF will mail a check to each artist for the total of all purchases at the conclusion of the show.
Instructions for exhibiting crafts and pricing
- Crafts should have a clear price label attached. If the price cannot be attached, a receipt with the amount should be given to those who wish to purchase from UUCF. The receipt or price should include the artist’s name.
- No bags will be provided by UUCF. Please provide your own wrapping or tissue for fragile items.
- Please take into consideration that 20% of sales will go to UUCF when you are setting your pricing.
- You will be given a table without a tablecloth or sign. Please provide your own covering and signage.
- Please email visualarts@uucf.org to let the organizers know if you have any mobility issues and require a chair or an accessible location for your table.
