Ministerial candidate Cara Fortner became UUCF's intern minister in August 2024, and will serve in that role through June 2025. A student at Wesley Theological Seminary, Cara expects to graduate in spring 2025. She is also a candidate for fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association. Cara completed a unit of clinical pastoral education last fall at Goodwin Living in Alexandria and enjoyed her time as a chaplain-in-training. She has also been an active lay leader for many years at her home congregation, the UU Church in Reston. Cara lives in Herndon, with her partner, Jesse, her two children, Eleanor and Julia, and two young, large, and energetic dogs. Cara enjoys singing and making music with others, spending time in contemplation and meditation, moving her body through hiking, strength training, and yoga, and sometimes cardio, and getting to know people.
