U.S. Citizenship class starts Oct. 18

Contact Stacy Casey. UUCF’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program will offer a class for immigrants seeking to prepare for the U.S. citizenship test beginning Oct. 18. Classes will be held Wednesday evenings 7:15-8:45 p.m. at the Southgate Community Center in Reston. The program has openings for substitute teachers to assist at any time during the school year. The Wednesday evening ESOL class needs two more volunteers to teach English to small classes of adult students. These classes are held at Stonegate Village Apartments in Reston.

Hymn leaders needed

Contact Laura Weiss. UUCF’s music program needs people to lead hymns as a vocalist at the 9:15 a.m. service. If a busy schedule has prevented you from joining a music ensemble, this is a great way to participate musically in worship. A brief rehearsal will take place before the service and you will get the music in advance.

Fall worship volunteers needed

Contact Mary Foster. Now that UUCF is back on the two-service schedule, it takes 13 volunteers each Sunday to welcome visitors, manage coffee, usher, etc. More volunteers are desperately needed to ensure services run smoothly on Sunday mornings. Sign up here for the 9:15 a.m. service or here for 11:15. Training is provided.

RE needs you

Contact Linnea Nelson, Courtney Firth (youth), Melissa Campos-Poehnert or an RE Committee member to teach at 11:15. Preschool and Grades 2, 3 and 4 need teachers. Sign up here to see who else is teaching or to join a team. We provide training and support. Or click here to be a greeter.
