Each year for almost 20 years, UUCF has hosted the FACETS Hypothermia Shelter for one week in February. This year’s week is February 2-9. The shelter means unhoused adults in Fairfax County have a safe and warm place to have meals and sleep each night. More than 230 volunteer are needed in three categories; Driving, Dinner, and all others. All of the dinners are prepared by the churches that partner with UUCF for the shelter week. UUCF does not prepare any of the dinners. Early risers are needed for breakfast and morning clean up! If you want to be able to sleep on the job, seven overnighters are needed to assist the shelter captains. Please consider taking one or more volunteer slots.
