ACT! Seeks Testimony on Unified Sanitation Districts
Fairfax County is considering Unified Sanitation Districts (USD) – a new approach to trash and recycling designed to improve service, reduce costs, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and make neighborhoods cleaner and safer. More details are here. Several trash haulers are spreading misinformation and building opposition, so the county would like feedback from residents before a Board of Supervisors’ meeting on October 14. Here’s how to provide testimony in person at public hearings, in writing, by phone, or by video. If you would like help making and uploading your video comments, UUCF’s Act for Climate Today (ACT!) can help. Email Trish Amstutz, and be sure to put “USDs” in the subject line.
