Laura Weiss joined UUCF in August 2016.

An experienced and versatile artistic director and performer, Laura is currently UUCF’s Director of Music and Arts, assistant director for the Mosaic Harmony Gospel Choir, moderator for the Association of UU Music Ministries Board of Trustees, and owner/educator for her own piano studio in Vienna, VA.

Laura holds a bachelors  in music, a masters education and maintains memberships with NafME, ACDA, NVMTA, and VCDA.

Recent placements have included interim director of music/organist for St. Albans on the campus of the Washington National Cathedral, director of music for St. Cyprian’s Episcopal (Boston), and director of music for South Church in Andover, MA. She is former K-12 music educator for Boston Public Schools, The Boston Music Center, The Kittredge School of North Andover, and Bennington College.

In addition to her choral conducting and teaching, in 2010, Laura first appeared on the debut solo album, “My Life, Then,” followed by “From Within” (2014) along with guitarist Adam Dehner and vocal artist Jodi Blankstein. She recently joined forces as one half of the powerhouse music duo, Unfolding, on the album “Not Your Mamas’ Hymns” (2018). Unfolding was the featured guest on Music Alley Radio (WERA 96.7) in May and December 2019. On the national stage for the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), she served as pianist for the UUA General Assembly in New Orleans in 2018, band director for the 2019 General Assembly in Spokane, WA, and will be co-director of music for UU Ministry Days in Baltimore, MD, in June 2025.
