The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) is offering free tickets to student/youth groups (up through grade 12) to attend it’s Jun. 16 “Portraits” show at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.
Free tickets available for the 5 p.m. show (First come, first served.)
Hot to Request Tickets
- Identify exactly how many tickets you need. You may include adult chaperones in your count.
- Email the following info to tickets@gmcw.org:
- Name and email of adult chaperone who will pick up the tickets on the day of the show (at will call)
- Name of congregation
- Number of tickets requested
- Title of show you are requesting (“Portraits”)
- Which performance time you are requesting (5 p.m.)
If at any point your ticket count changes, please email tickets@gmcw.org immediately so that none of these tickets will go to waste.
Show Details
Through visual art, music, and dance, “Portraits” represents the vibrant spectrum of sexual, gender, racial, ethnic, and cultural identities in a nine-movement oratorio.
- Each of the nine movements will feature one of nine artworks, accompanied by original music and dance.
- Each movement features original music and choreography inspired by the portrait.
- The show is about 1 hour long. Talk-backs with some of the artists have been scheduled to follow the show. Including the talk-backs, the event should conclude between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m.
